Interview with Nazli from Together We Pass

Recently I have had the priviledge of interviewing Nazli from Together We Pass. I asked her a few questions about what she has learned and what advice she has for UNISA students. Here is the dialogue:

Varsity Buzz

When did you start working at Together We Pass?

Nazli from Together We Pass

I started working for Together We Pass in 2012 when it was still Tabby’s Study Groups.

Varsity Buzz

What have you learned in the 2 years you have been working there?

Nazli from Together We Pass

I realised that things I take for granted, e.g. computer literacy is not an advantage that everyone in SA has access to. I have encountered many students who do not know how to use a computer, search the internet, or have internet access within their areas.

Varsity Buzz

What is the biggest problem UNISA students face today?

Nazli from Together We Pass

Where to start? There are so many problems that Unisa students are currently facing, firstly reaching Unisa is a HUGE problem! Getting hold of Unisa is time-consuming and often a waste of time and money as they do not reply to emails or students struggle to get through telephonically.

Varsity Buzz

How can we/they solve this problem?

Nazli from Together We Pass

Unisa should ensure their contact details are always updated, employ more staff and provide proper training to their staff to assist students. They should also make sure that MyUNISA is working properly.

Varsity Buzz

What advice can you give to UNISA students?

Nazli from Together We Pass

You took the first steps to getting your degrees, don’t lose focus on why you started studying, the rewards will be worthwhile in the end. Long distance studying is also a lonely journey, so join online study groups for assistance and support from fellow students.

Varsity Buzz

If you were to start studying through UNISA what 5 things would you do first?

Nazli from Together We Pass

Choose my subjects wisely to ensure I have enough time to spend on each subject, prepare a study schedule/roster, listing Assignment due dates and Exam dates to allow ample preparation time for each subject and join online study groups and forums.

Varsity Buzz

What is your favourite quote?

Nazli from Together We Pass

“The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday.”

Thank you for your time Nazli. That was very informative and I hope it helps any UNISA student reading this. 🙂
